Run 8-057  5/14/2008  Structure Fire, 9777 Greenwood Ave, Niles.  Canteen 4 with 2 members was on scene at this Nursing home fire.

 

Run 8-056  5/13/2008  Special Duty, Canteen 6 with 7 members was on hand to assist Hoffman Estates with a dispensing drill.  We served 250 workers coffee and donuts in the morning and were on scene all day to provide water as requested.

Run 8-053  5/8/2008  Structure Fire  3429 Lewis Ave, Waukegan.  Canteen 6 with 2 members was on scene at this fire.  There was a gas explosion and the north side of the house was destroyed.

Run 8-049  4/24/2008  Structure Fire 2115 Darrel, Evanston.  Canteen 4 with 2 members were on scene during this structure fire.  1 person was rescued from the home and 1 firefighter was injured.

 

Run 8-048  4/16/2008  Structure Fire 595 Pershing Rd, Vernon Hills.  Canteen 7 with 1 member was on scene during this structure fire.  75 x 35 single family 2 story home with fire in attached garage and bedrooms above.  No injuries.

Run 8-046   Structure Fire  24063 Lakeside, Lake Zurich.  Canteen’s 4 and 6 with 8 members were on scene during this structure fire.  2 dogs perished.

 

Run 8-045  4/7/2008  Structure Fire 28714 W Park Ave, Barrington.  Canteen 6 with 4 members was called here.  The fire was knocked out very quickly and we were released before arriving.

Run 8-043  4/5/2008  Structure Fire  13th & Adams, Winthrop Harbor.  Canteen 1 with10 members was on scene during this single family home fire.  Fire in garage and back of house with heavy damage.  1 firefighter transported to hospital after stepping on a nail.  Homeowners were on vacation.

 

Run 8-042  4/5/2008  Special duty Long Grove Fire Dept.  Canteen 4 with 7 members were invited to be on hand at this function to show off MESS.

 

Run 8-041 4/3/2008 Dive Box 10601 Seymour, Franklin Park. Canteen 7 & 4 with 3 members responded to this call for a car in a retention pond. Victim was out of car.

Run 8-040 4/2/2008 Structure Fire, 924 McAllister, Waukegan. Canteen 6 with 4 members responded to this 2 story single family home. Fire was through the roof and into the walls with heavy damage to the structure.

Sandbagging for Gurnee School Dist. 56 The bus was brought in to be used the following day for sandbagging. M6 with 6 members was on the scene to serve coffee and doughnuts to the volunteers who came to sign up for sandbagging. Fortunately, the river did not rise as expected and sandbagging was called off.

Run 8-035 3/29/2008 NIPAS/Niles Police Dept. Corner of Milwaukee & Dempster. Canteen 4 with 6 members responded to this NIPAS call out for a man barricaded in a home.

Run 8-034 3/27/2008 Structure fire 1117 Clinton, Park Ridge. Canteen 4 with 3 members responded to this fire.

 

Run 8-033 3/26/2008 Structure Fire Cottage Lane, Third Lake. Canteen 1 with 3 members responded to a special request from Gurnee Fire during this working still. The fire was in the garage, and so was a corvette. The corvette was lost.

Run 8-032 3/24/2008 Structure Fire Palatine. Canteen 3 with 3 members responded to this apartment fire. 1 unit in a 4 unit section was destroyed. Fire got into attic, 2 more units with water damage.

Run 8-030 3/19/2008 Trench Rescue 582 Sheridan Rd, Lake Bluff. Canteen 6 with 2 members responded. We were released on arrival.

Run 8-029 3/18/2008 Haz Mat 100 Seahorse Drive Waukegan. Canteen 6 with 4 members responded to serve 20 special response team members while a propane tank was leaking.

Run 8-028 3/18/2008 Structure Fire 223 Lincoln Waukegan. Canteen 6 with 5 members responded to serve 25 emergency personnel. This was a 2 story single family home, 5 residents transferred to hospital.

Run 8-027 3/16/2008 Special Duty for a NIPAS call out. Canteen 6 with 5 members responded to this show of force during a motorcycle gang meeting. Served 125

Run 8-026 3/13/2008 Structure Fire Skipper Buds, North Point Marina, Winthrop Harbor. Canteen 5 with 4 members responded.

Run 8-025 3/4/2008 Structure Fire 1907 Carmel, Zion. Canteen 6 with 4 members responded to this house fire and provided rehab for 75 emergency personnel.

 

Run 8-024 3/1/2008 Structure Fire Condell Hospital, Libertyville. Canteen 6 with 4 members responded to heavy smoke in the laundry room at Condell Hospital. The Canteen was returned before arrival on the scene.

2500 E Oakton, Arlington Heights. Elk Grove Village Township requested Canteens to assist with a fire in a strip mall. Canteens 6 & 3 responded with 7 members to feed 75 firemen. The roof collapsed and the entire strip mall is a total loss.

1926 Grand Ave, Waukegan. Canteens 6 and 2 were on hand to provide rehab for 120 SRT members and fire men. A Hair Salon and Tuxedo Rental store were heavily damaged when an explosion blew out the front, back and roof of the buildings.

Run 8-019 2/27/2008 Structure Fire Prairie View Apartments Lewis Ave. North Chicago. Canteen 6 with 6 members responded to a fire in the roof. Several families were displaced.

Run 8-018 2/24/2008 Structure Fire 1674 Eastern Ave, Lincolnshire. Canteen 6 with 5 members responded, but were returned before arrival on the scene.

Run 8-017 2/22/2008 Haz Mat Call 620 Lakeview, Vernon Hills. Canteen 6 with 2 members responded. On arrival, 1 55 gallon barrel was found reacting. Box was downgraded and we were returned before arrival on the scene.

Run 8-016 2/22/200/ Structure Fire Lake Forest High School, McKinley Rd. Lake Forest. Canteen 7 with one member responded here. Sparks from welders caught tarps on fire, the smoke was sucked into the ventilation system and spread throughout the school.

Run 8-015 2/21/2008 Structure Fire, 346 Waukegan Rd. Highwood Canteen 4 responded with 7 members to the Nite N Gale restaurant for the second time. There was fire in the walls and the floor of the 2nd floor of the building.

Run 8-014 2/21/2008 Structure Fire, 346 Waukegan Rd, Highwood. Canteen 7 responded to the Nite N Gale restaurant with one member for a kitchen fire.

Run 8-013 2/21/2008 Structure Fire 824 W 16th St, Wilmette. Canteen 6 with 3 members responded to serve 75 emergency personnel. Two Story Single family home 75
x 90 with fire in the basement. The fire hydrants were frozen.

Run 8-012 2/15/2008 Structure Fire, Skipper Buds, Butler Building Winthrop Harbor. Canteen 6 with 6 members were on the scene to serve 150 emergency personnel. A 150 x 400 storage building with 8 boats were destroyed 12 other boats were damaged.

Run 8-011 2/15/2008 Structure Fire 330 Melvin, Northbrook. Canteen 4 with 4 members responded to this warehouse fire.

Run 8-0110 2/13/200/ Structure Fire 1260 Townline Rd. Mundelein Canteen 6 with 6 members responded to a fire in an Auto Repair Store.


Run 8-009 2/5/08 Structure Fire 1033 Western, Park Ridge. Canteen 4 with 2 members served 40 emergency workers during this structure fire. A two story 25 x 100 single family home with heavy fire throughout the building. 1 resident transported to the hospital.

Run 8-008 1/30/08 Structure Fire Butterfield and Virginia, Libertyville. Canteen 6 with 4 members responded to this structure fire. The 50 x 150 tri-level home had a fire in the garage and bedroom above. 2 cars and a motorcycle were lost. We provided rehab for 60 emergency personnel.

Run 8-007 1/30/08 Structure Fire 1221 Crabtree Lane, Schaumburg. Canteen 4 with 2 members responded to this special request for assistance. A 12 unit apartment building where a fire started in the utility room. A window broke and due to high winds, the fire spread to 6 apartments. We provided rehab for 80 emergency personnel.

Run 8-006 1/30/08 Special Duty We recently received a donation of 9 pallets of sports drink, which was temporarily placed at the NIPSA Center in Glenview. The 9 pallets, each containing 60 cases, had to be moved today in the subzero temperatures and brutal wind chills of 25 below zero. This was a huge task. Each case, all 540 of them, had to be loaded onto vehicles, driven to new locations within 6 different Fire Departments (Glenview Station 13, Barrington Station 3, North Maine, Knollwood, Gurnee and Zion) unloaded and restacked. At one station, they had to be carried up to the second floor.
Thank you to the 6 members who spent an entire day doing this - Terry Cox, Rick Novak, Alan Mayer, Tim Kessel, Cole Busch and Merrill Bush. Each of these members have received 500 points for their efforts today.

Run 8-005 1/20/2008 Structure Fire 129 Rivershire Lane, Lincolnshire. Canteen 6 with 4 members responded to this structure fire, but were returned on arrival.

Run 8-004 1/19/2008 Structure Fire Hillside, Barrington. Canteen 3 with 4 members responded to this structure fire, but were returned before arrival on the scene.

Run 8-003 1/16/2008 Structure Fire 28758 Park Drive, Barrington. Canteens 6 and 3 with 6 members were on the scene of this structure fire and 45 emergency personnel.

Run 8-002 Special Request
by Kenosha County and Racine Fire Bells for Canteen 5 (the bus) and Canteen 2 to assist with rehab in staging area at Highway 50 & 94. Kenosha County was hit by several tornado’s touching down with extensive damage. This was a box to the 5th alarm. 13 MESS members provided rehab for 175 emergency personnel while they waited to be dispatched to scenes.

 

 

 

12/31/27  7-139 Structure Fire 2921 Eschol, Zion.  Canteen 2 with 3 members returned to this address when earlier fire rekindled.  Served 25 emergency personnel.

 

12/30/07 7-138 Structure Fire 2921 Eschol, Zion Canteen 7 with 1 member was on scene to serve 45 emergency personnel during this house fire.  2 story home with enclosed porch.

 

12/19/07 7-137 Live Fire training, Eleanor Drive, Lake Zurich

Canteen 6 with 3 members were on scene during this training drill where 2 houses were burnt down.

 

12/19/ 07  7-136 Trench Rescue Summers, WI  Canteen 6 with 8 members were requested to assist in rehabbing 65 emergency personnel during a trench rescue.  Man trapped 30 ft down.  We were on scene for about 5 hours.

 

12/05/07  7-135 Structure Fire 322 Bloom St. Highland Park.  Canteen 7 responded and served 50 emergency personnel.

 

                 7-134 Fire in Trailer,  Washington St. Gurnee.  Canteen 6 with 6 members responded.  There was a fire in a trailer with magnesium and metal shavings.  Quad 2 Foam truck was called in to assist.  75 emergency personnel were served.

 

11/25/07  7-133 Structure Fire  2420 Oakton, Units U, V,&  W.  Elk Grove Village.  Canteens 3 & 4 responded to this 3rd alarm fire in an industrial building.  100 emergency personnel were served.

 

11/22/07  7-132  Ambulance Box  09 Seymor, Mundelein  Canteen 3 was requested by the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force to serve 20 investigators at this accident.

 

11/21/07  7-131  Structure Fire.  582 N Mettawa Drive, Lake Forest.  Canteen 7 served 30 emergency personnel.  There was a fire in the wall around an electrical outlet.

 

 

7-130      Structure Fire  524 Rosedale, Park City.  Canteen 7 served about 40 emergency personnel during this fire in a mobile home.

 

11/19/07  7-129  Structure Fire  2600 Elisha, Zion.  Canteen 7 with 5 members were on hand to serve 55 emergency personnel during this apartment fire.  2 families were displaced.

 

11/12/07  7-128 Hazardous material incident.  Lake Zurich Rd at Bent Ridge Rd.  Canteen 3 with 2 members served 30 emergency personnel.

2 barrels with unknown material were removed from the scene

 

11/10/07  7-127 Structure Fire, 8951 – 8945 Robin Rd. Des Plaines Canteen 6 with 4 members responded and served 60 emergency personnel during this fire in a 4 unit townhouse building.  5 people were transported to the hospital.

10/31/07   7-124  Dive Box North Beach Waukegan  Canteen 6 with 4 members served 50 divers during recovery mode for missing Gurnee man

10/29/07  7-122 Dive Box North Beach Waukegan  Canteen 6 with 3 members served 30 divers while they searched for a missing kyaker.  Boaters in the area reported the empty kyak to emergency services.

 

10/27/07  7-121  Overturned semi, Highway 41 north of Wadsworth Rd.

Newport Fire department requested MESS to serve 150 emergency personnel and individuals involved with horses during this accident.  A semi truck with 48 horses overturned.  13 horses were dead at the scene and the rest were transported to stables.  4 other horses died later and the remainder were adopted.

 

10/27/07  7-120  1700 Ballard Park Ridge.  MESS was requested by North Maine ESDA to serve the workers during a Chemical Household Waste Collections in North Maine.  ESDA arranged for the donation of food products.  We served 100 workers.

10/3/07  7-114 Structure Fire, 974 Blackburn, Gurnee.  Canteen 7 with 4 members responded to a single family tri-level with fire in the upstairs bedroom.  20 emergency personnel were served.

 

9/30/07  7-113  Special Duty, Lake Forest Fire Department Open House. Canteen 6 with 7 members were on hand to assist Lake Forest with their open house.  We cooked and served 600 hotdogs.  Approximately 1500 visitors attended.

9/24/07  7-111 Structure Fire, 29762 Old Spring Rd., Libertyville.  Canteen 6 with 5 members responded to this structure fire.  75 emergency personnel were served.

 

9/20/07  7-110  MESS Benefit hosted by the Lake County Fire Chiefs Association.  Canteen 6 was on hand along with 39 members.  The benefit was a great success and all had a great time!!  Thank you to the Fire Chiefs and all those how came to support MESS.

 

9/16/07  7-109  Structure Fire, 62 & Penny Rd, Barrington.  Canteen 6 with 4 members was on hand to serve 70 emergency personnel.  This was a 2 story single family home.  Fire on the first floor was caused by refinishing kitchen floor.

 

9/15/07  7-108  Special Duty, Gurnee Expo, Gurnee Mills.   Canteen 2 was on hand with 7 members. “Into the fire” was introduced to the public.

 

9/15/07  7-107  Special Duty, Open House, North Maine Fire Protection District.   Canteen 4 with 6 members was on hand to help out.   We cooked and served about 300 hotdogs.

 

9/12/07  7-106  Structure Fire, 26980 Fairfield Rd., Wauconda.  Canteen 6 with 4 members was on scene to serve 40 emergency personnel during this barn fire.

 

9/12/07  7-105  Haz Mat call intersection of 120 & 45.  Canteen 6 with 2 members responded to this, but was returned before arrival on the scene.

 

9/8/07  7-104  Special Duty, Open House, Buffalo Grove Fire Dept.  Canteen 6 with 10 members cooked and served 1100 hot dogs and 30 pounds of chili.

 

9/7/07  7-103  Road Side Safety Check, Park City.  Canteen 7 with 2 members were on hand to serve 25 police officers.

 

9/7/07  7-102  Special Duty, Lake Forest Fire Department.  Canteen 6 with3 members participated in a funeral procession for a Lake Forest Firemen who passed away.

 

9/6/07  7-101  Propane Leak, Denniston & Wheeling Rd. Wheeling Fire Dept.  Canteen 6 and 4 responded with 7 members  as a special request for a 5,000 gallon propane tank leaking.  36 homes were evacuated

 

9/4/07  7-100 Structure Fire  4100 Triumvera, Glenview

Canteen 7 with 3 members responded and served 40 emergency personnel during this apartment fire.  Fire was on the 4th floor of a 5 story building.  Curtains on sliding doors caught fire due to a grill flare up.  43 people were displaced.

 

9/3/07  7-099 Special Duty, Labor Day Parade, Zion Fire Department.  Canteens 2, 6 and 7 with 10 members were on hand to enjoy the picnic and participate in the parade.

8/29/07  7-094  Structure Fire, 1004 Cottonwood, Mt. Prospect.  Canteen 7 with 2 members served 40 emergency personnel during this apartment fire.  This was a 12 unit building where fire burned through the roof of 2 units.

 

8/27/07  7-093 Structure Fire, 927 Martin Luther King Drive, North Chicago.  Canteen 6 was on hand with 3 members to serve 25 emergency personnel.  An abondonded large brick industrial building was on fire. 

 

8/26/07  7-092  Special Duty, The STATION Bar & Grill, Winthrop Harbor.  Canteen 2 with 1 members was on hand to give out information about MESS during a Motorcycle Run.

 

8/26/07  7-091  Special Duty, Gurnee Fire.  Canteen 6 with 10 members were on scene to feed police personnel at road blocks due to flood.

Canteens 6 with 15 members were on hand to feed administrative and police personnel.  We were on hand for 9.5 hours, while we also restocked supplies and cleaned up the equipment

Canteen 2 with 1 member was called back a second time to this fire.

Canteens 6 with 10 members were on hand to serve 384 volunteers who were sandbagging for the Des Plaines river flood.  We were there for 17.5 hours and served 3,456 servings.

Canteen 6 with 2 members served 30 emergency personnel.

 

8/23/07  7-086  Nursing Home Evacuation 10 Summit, Park Ridge

Canteen 4 and 4 members were on hand to assist when a Nursing home was evacuated.  We served 30 emergency personnel and evacuees.

 

8/23/07  7-085  Structure Fire. 40222 Greenbay Rd. Winthrop Harbor

Canteen 2 and 3 members were on hand to serve 25 emergency personnel.  This was a 2 story home with fire in the attic.

 

8/23/07  7-084 Structure Fire, Deptke Juvenile Home, Lincolnshire.

Canteen 7 with 4 members was on hand to serve 45 emergency personnel.  The building was struck by lightning and a fire broke out. There was evacuation of the building.

Canteen 6 with 11 members was on hand to serve volunteers who were sandbagging for the flooded Des Plaines River.  We fed 200 people over 13.5 hours, approximately 1400 servings were handed out.

Canteen 6 with 4 members was on scene to serve 50 emergency personnel during this structure fire.  This was a 3 story, 4 family home with heavy fire damage on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

 

8/11/07 7-079 Dive Box, Bob Marina, Route 12, Fox Lake

Canteen 6 was called in to assist Quad 2 canteen that had already been on the scene for 4 hours.  120 divers and handlers responded from 3 divisions.

 

8/11/07 7-078 Special Duty, North Pointe Marina, Wadsworth

Canteen 2 with 6 members was on hand at Venetian Days.  We passed out MESS information and applications.

 

8/10/07 7-077 Police Callout, Extended Stay America, Buffalo Grove

Canteen 6 was on called by Buffalo Grove Police to assist.  Offender was apprehended and we were called off before 8 members arrived on the scene.

 

8/9/07 7-076 Special Duty, Libertyville Police Department.  Libertyville Police requested that a canteen be on the scene at Our Lady of Humility Church during a funeral of a deceased police officer.  It was very hot that day and we passed out 6 cases of water. 6 member and Canteen 2 were on the scene.

Canteen 3 was called in as well on this one.  6 members assisted at the school passing out meals to the patients.

 

8/7/07 7-074 CHUG Callout, 2195 Brandywine, Buffalo Grove

Canteen 6 was called in with 2 members to assist in rehab of emergency personnel and serve 120 meals to patients evacuated from a nursing home that due to power failure had no air conditioning.  Patients moved from Nursing home to a school.

 

8/7/07 7-073 CHUG Callout, 180 W Half Day Rd, Buffalo Grove.  MESS was called to bring in generators to a nursing home that was out of power.  Generators from Zion ESDA and Metropolitan Fire Restoration Services were dispatched to the scene.

 

8/7/07 7-072 Structure Fire 131 Heron Road, Lake Forest

Canteen 7 was on the scene to serve 40 fire personnel during this structure fire.  Lightning hit the roof of a single family ranch style home.

8/3/07  7-071 Structure Fire        21481 Route 60, Mundelein

The Lake Zurich Canteen with 6 members was on scene to feed 45 emergency personnel during this large single family home with heavy damage. This was the second of 2 back to back calls.

 

8/2/07  7-070 Drowning  Foss Park, North Chicago

The North Chicago Canteen with 5 members was on scene for the dive team at this call.  The body was recovered.

 

8/2/07  7-069 Structure Fire, 1470 Jefferson St. Des Plaines

Canteen 7 was on scene with 1 member for a fire in a 4 story apartment building.  The fire was contained to 1 apartment on the 4th floor.  30 emergency personnel were served.

The North Chicago Canteen with 5 members was on the scene to serve 25 emergency personnel during this structure fire.

The Zion Canteen with 4 members was called in to serve 100 NIPAS officers during a demonstration in Waukegan.

The North Chicago Canteen was on scene with 8 members was on scene to serve 80 emergency personnel.  A large manufacturing building caught fire from the hot tar being spread on roof of building

 

7/10/07  7-062 Structure Fire  24th & Joanna, Zion

The Zion Canteen with 4 members was on site during this single family residence Fire to serve 25 emergency personnel. One  story house with fire contained to one bedroom.  No injuries, but the family was displaced due to the fire.

 

7/4/07 7-061  Special Duty Zion Park District

The Zion Canteen was on site as a central location for the ESDA Members who helped at the park.

 

7/3/07 7-060  Special Duty, Roadside Safety Check, Zion

The Zion Canteen with 3 members was on the scene to feed 15 Zion Police Officers during this roadside safety check.  Over 300 cars went through with 25-35 tickets issued.

 

6/30/07 7-059  Special Duty, Roadside Safety Check, Wheeling

The Lake Zurich and Glenview Canteens were both on the scene To feed 20 Wheeling Police Officers during this roadside Safety check.

 

6/30/07 7-058  Structure Fire, 1129 Hohlfeld Rd, Glencoe

The North Chicago Canteen with 3 members was on scene to feed 45 emergency personnel during this structure fire.

6/24/07  7-057 Structure Fire – 2600 Old Mill Rd, Lincolnshire

The North Chicago Canteen and M700 along with 2 members Served 40 emergency personnel at this structure fire.

 

6/24/07  7-056 Special Duty Newport Fire Department

The North Chicago Canteen, Zion Canteen and the Bus along with 10 members were all on hand to assist Newport with their Pancake Day Fund Raiser.  What a great success it was and fun was had by All attending.

 

    6/22/07  7-055    Special Duty, Lake Forest Fire Department

  The North Chicago Canteen, the Lake Zurich Canteen, the Bus and M700 with 11 members were on scene for this very large mass Casualty drill.  We fed 320 emergency workers brats and polish Sausage.  Our joke of using tablecloths and candles and serving Jell-O Shots (without alcohol) went over well with Captain Garrison (whom it was intended for).

 

6/19/07  7-054  Structure Fire, 38372 Tewes Court, Beach Park

The Zion Canteen, M700 with 6 members served 35 emergency service Personnel at this garage fire.  This was the first run for the Zion canteen.  Looks like the Zion ESDA/MESS marriage is off to a good Start

 

    6/16/07  7-053  Structure Fire, 4937 Jerome, Skokie

  The Glenview Canteen, M700 and 4 members served 100 emergency Personnel during this structure fire.

 

    6/13/07  7-052  Fire in Auto Junk yard, Washington St, Park City

M700 and 2 members were on scene of this fire to serve 30 emergency Personnel water and Gatorade.  Fire erupted in some vehicles as employees were emptying gas from the tanks.  Tires caught fire so there was a very large black header that could be seen for miles!!

6/10/07  7-050  Special Duty – requested by Evanston Police Dept M4 with one member and 4 guests served 30 runners in the “Special Olympic Torch Run”

 

6/9/07  7-049  Structure Fire  2327 Peachtree Lane, Northbrook

M700 and M6 with 5 members responded to a box alarm fire of A single family home.  This was new construction and the owners Had not moved in yet.  There was damage to the roof and rear Of the house.  We served 45 emergency personnel.

 

6/6/07  7-048  Structure Fire  9701 D Street, Des Plaines

M700 and M4 with 3 members responded to this box alarm For an apartment fire.  We were released on arrival.

 

  6/2/07    7-047 Structure Fire  24770 Lakeview    Drive, Lake Villa.

M700 and 2 members fed 60 emergency personnel during This structure fire. The fire was in the bedroom, kitchen and Living room.   There were 2 DOA  at this fire.

 

6/1/07   7-046 Structure Fire  2441 Dugdale, Waukegan

M700 and 2 members were on scene for this structure fire. When the fire dept. arrived, people were jumping out of the Second and third floor windows of this apartment building.

The fire personnel found a small garbage fire and extinguished It. The Box was cancelled.

The North Chicago Canteen and M700 with 5 members fed 25 Emergency personnel during this garage fire. There was a 1966 corvette in the garage at the time.

5/24/07     7-043 Structure Fire 535 W. Dempster, Mt. Prospect

M700 and the Glenview Canteen with 4 members responded To this 36 unit apartment fire.  3 apartments were involved In the fire.  45 emergency personnel were served.

 

5/23/07     7-042 Structure Fire 901 Goldenrod, Lake Forest

The North Chicago Canteen with 2 members served 35 Emergency personnel during this Code 4 structure fire.

 

5/23/07     7-041 Structure Fire Wadsworth & Lewis, Beach Park

M700 responded to the corner of Wadsworth and Lewis for A structure fire.  25 emergency personnel were served.

 

5/22/07     7-040 Special duty Pleasant Prairie Fire Department and the Newport Fire department Chief requested the use of the bus to transport Fire Personnel to the funeral of a Kenosha Police Officer killed in the line of Duty.

 

5/21/07     7-039 Structure Fire 3 Shire Trail,  Barrington

The North Chicago Canteen, Lake Zurich Canteen, and 700 With 5 members responded to a 5th alarm tender box in Barrington where we served 150 emergency personnel during This structure fire.  The fire was in the 3rd floor with water Damage to the second and first floors. The roof was completely Gone.

 

5/18/07     7-038 Murder Investigation  Cook County Forest Preserve Police.  The North Chicago Canteen, The Lake Zurich Canteen and 700 With 6 members Responded to Pine Lake Forest Preserve in Glenview for a Murder investigation.  We served 200 police personnel.

 

5/17/07    7-037 Drill Pleasant Prairie, WI Sewer Plant.

At the request of Lake Forest and Pleasant Prairie Fire Departments, the North Chicago Canteen with 3 members were on scene to feed 22 SRT members during this drill.

5/15/07    7-035 Structure Fire  683 La Parc Circle, Buffalo Grove.

At the request of the Buffalo Grove Fire Department, M700 and the Lake Zurich Canteen with 2 members went in route to this structure Fire.  700 arrived and returned the canteen  before arriving on scene.

 

5/15/07    7-034 Box Alarm Fire, 2025 Rowhling Rd. Palatine

M700 and The Lake Zurich Canteen and 6 members served 70 emergency personnel during this apartment fire.  The fire was on the 4th floor of a 6 story building.

 

5/12/07    7-033 Mass Casualty Drill, Newport School  

The North Chicago Canteen and 22 members were on scene during This drill.  Thanks to Metropolitan Fire Restoration who supplied and Cooked the pork for lunch at this drill.  The pork sandwiches were Enjoyed by all attending.  Approximately 210 people attended.

 

5/07/07    7-032 Box Alarm Fire  9443-9461 Bay Colony, Des Plaines

M700 and The North Chicago Canteen with 6 members served 25 emergency personnel during this apartment fire.  The fire was in the second and third floor with water damage on the first floor.  3 units were affected.   1 Fireman had recently returned from Iraq and couldn’t Wait to get the pound cake!!

 

5/02/07    7-031 Special Duty  Baskin Robbins Ice Cream was Doing a fund raiser for the National Fallen Firefighters. They were Selling ice cream for 31 cents a scoop and invited MESS to have A canteen on site.  The North Chicago Canteen was on scene with 11 members for the evening.  MESS Fire Corp. handed out over 90 Fire Safety booklets.

 

5/02/07    7-030 Drill  12627 Sheridan Rd, Pleasant Prairie, WI

At the request of Lake Forest and Pleasant Prairie Fire Departments, the North Chicago and Lake Zurich Canteen’s were both on scene to feed about 50 SRT members during this drill.

 

4/29/07    7-029Box Alarm Fire 6517 Grand Ave, Gurnee  TGI Friday’s Restaurant. 

 M700 and 2 members fed 45 Emergency Personnel during this Structure fire. The fire started outside and spread into the attic.  The arsonist was arrested a couple hours later.

 

4/22/07    7-028 Working Still  137 & Greenbay, Recruiting Center

M700 and The North Chicago Canteen and 2 members served 30 emergency personnel during this structure fire.  The fire was on the second floor of a 5 story building.  The computer room was heavily Damaged.

 

4/21/07    7-027  Box Alarm Fire  Greenbay & 33rd. Beach Park Fire Dept

M700 and 3 other members responded to the incident.  They served 25 emergency personnel.

 

4/21/07    7-026  Special Duty Great Lakes Marine Center.

The North Chicago Canteen with 2 members were on hand at this Boy Scout function.  The boys had a lot of fun eating off the canteen like

The emergency personnel does.

 

4/16/07    7-025 Box Alarm Fire  Arby’s Restaurant, 7001 Dempster, Niles

The Glenview Canteen with 2 members was returned before it got To the scene.

 

4/13/07    7-024 Working Still  623 Atlantic, Waukegan

M700 responded to scene and served  25 emergency personnel during this 3 story home with fire in the basement and first floor.  3 dogs suffered smoke inhalation, 2 were lost.

The Libertyville canteen with 6 members responded to a structure fire Where we served 70 emergency personnel.

The Glenview Canteen with 7 members responded to a fire in a house trailer 3 trailers were affected.  There was one injury and a dog was lost in the fire.  We served 65 emergency personnel.
