2006 field trip to venerable fire collection Inc.
On Saturday, August 5, 2006, MESS
Canteen #4 was invited to participate in an event at a plant in Niles, IL
(M&R Printing Equipment, Inc), who was lending its facility and over 60 of
its personnel, all of whom volunteered, to assemble over 100 bicycles
through an event sponsored by Variety Club, Children's Charities Imprinted
Sportswear Division.
All of these were slated to be given away, free of charge, to handicapped
and needy kids. The giveaway was done at the new Renaissance Hotel and
Convention Center in Schaumburg, Il on Saturday, August 12, 2006.
MESS took care of feeding all the volunteer participants for this worthy
project.
As a side note, the CEO of M&R Companies, has been most generous, in the
past, with donations to MESS.
